I used to smoke after every meal and every snack. The urge was so strong that when I quit, I was actually afraid to eat.
What I did was try to drink a glass of milk afterwards, because to me, milk and smoking just don't go together. If I didn't have milk, I would drink a huge glass of water, and then do anything I could think of to keep myself distracted. And in my head I kept up my mantra, "I choose not to smoke. I CHOOSE not to smoke." It worked.
