Missing the pleasure parts of smoking

    It's 48 hours since I stopped smoking and I have to say I miss sitting down and feeling the pleasure that smoking provided.  I was always rewarding myself by pairing nicotine with lovely quiet moments in my recliner with a coffee catching up and preparing for the day (on weekends).  I'd sit for 2 hours doing this.  I'm just going to have to get used to this feeling of deprivation, it should go away eventually, I hope.  And when I feel wimpy and weak, I try to get bossy and bold to turn it around.  It's a real work in progress!

    Hi ocean, 

    Good for you in quitting! They say the first 3 days are the toughest to get through with your addiction. Hang in there! I know I’m going to be on guard until I pass that one year mark. I have a long ways to go yet but would definitely like you on this journey with me! 

    PS I’m a coffee drinker too, thought I would quit that too when I quit smoking, never did, still love my coffee, still find it soothing & can sit for for an hour or more, relaxing & preparing for my day!

    Hey ocean,

    I hear you!  Coffee and cigarettes went hand in hand for me and was something I always looked forward to.  But that is  because smoking is an addiction.  Once you break that addiction, you can enjoy your coffee without smoking.  And when you wake up in the morning, you won't have a foul tasting mouth from all those poisons.  You'll also get rid of your smoker's cough.

    So far I've been "inhaling" through a silicone straw, a bright pink one and I look so pretty, lol!
