Congratulations for reaching your 60 days milestone! It’s
wonderful! You are doing fantastic!
It’s completely normal to feel an increased interest in food
when you quit smoking. Some people turn to food to manage their cravings and
there are a lot of reasons for this: food taste better, hand to mouth habit,
emotional habit, comfort etc. Instead of snacking, people find helpful to drink
water, do some physical activities, keep their hands busy with something: play
games or play on your phone, play with a straw or a stress ball; brush your
teeth; draw or paint something; do a crossword puzzle; text a friend or check
your emails etc.
There are different ways to distract yourself when you have
a craving. Efreeman75 and shazzan have great ideas such as eating healthy
snacks, play poker online, keep your mind engaged, play an instrument etc.
Cravings can be tough but they don’t last as long as people think
they do. When you think about smoking or want a cigarette, do everything you
can to get out of that situation and go somewhere else or do something else. You
can do it!
