Well I have 14 days smoke free and not smoked 238 cigarettes. I have struggled this week with allowing my cravings to mess with my mind but I just talked with my brother (an ex-smoker) and he reminded me that a cigarette would do absolutely nothing for me. I definitely don’t want to be back in the cycle of addiction or go back to the first day of quitting again. This is the longest I’ve been smoke free in a very long time.

    Quitfriend,

    Congrats on 2 weeks!!!

I quit Jan. 01 and can relate to the total feeling of accomplishment to get to 1 week and then 2 weeks. I never quit that long before either.

Just take it one day at a time.

By the end of the second week I started to notice improvements in my overall mood, well being and health. Hope you are starting to notice the same.

    Keep it going.

    Hi quitfriend,

Congrats on your first two smoke free weeks!  That's great!

It's totally normal to struggle with cravings.  But you were smart to speak to your brother about it.  And he was absolutely right.  Lighting up at this point will only cause you stress and problems.  And you don't want to have to start from scratch again.

Try to keep yourself busy, and the days will fly by.  You are strong enough to go all the way, quitfriend.  Believe in yourself.

Thank you treepeo for the great advice and encouragement. I appreciate it. I think I am going to try to incorporate some exercise into my days this week and be grateful for all the good in my smoke free life.

    Hi Quitfriend

Your brother is absolutely right.  Cigarettes give us nothing, they only take.

Congratulations on your 2+ weeks.  I hope you enjoy your exercise and bet you will notice a difference already with your breathing.
