Hi there, I quit smoking May 1st, cold Turkey. Now I am starting to have nose bleeds and dizziness.  Is this normal?

    Hi dleves03,

First, let me congratulate you for quitting smoking.  I quit cold turkey, too, so I know what it's like.  I didn't get nose bleeds, but I did get a bit light-headed sometimes.  Withdrawal causes many different side effects depending on the person.  If you are worried, you might want to see a doctor just to get yourself checked out.

Hang in there and keep the quit, dleves03.  Quitting smoking is the best decision you could ever make.

    Hi dleves03,

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. I quit two months ago an I am enjoying the freedom from the addiction of many years. I occasionally felt light headed as the nicotine left my body but did not have nose bleeds myself. A visit to your doctor or a medical walk in clinic might help you determine the cause and treatment for this.

You have made an important decision to improve your quality of life. Wishing you all the very best with your quit!

    Good morning Dleves03,

    Congratulations on quitting smoking!
Regarding the withdrawal symptoms you are experiencing, just like Treepeo and Eagerquit mentioned, some people will feel dizzy or light headed. As for the nose bleed I would recommend to see a health care provider to make sure everything is okay.

Feel free to call a Quit Coach at Smokers'Helpline if you have more questions regarding the withdrawal symptoms you are experiencing, 1-877-513-5333.

    Have a beautiful smoke-free day !

    Valerie

    Good morning dleves03
Holy jeeburs and kudos to you for quitting cold turkey (and all other cold turkey quitters lol). I kinda wish I had that resolve to go cold turkey, but I needed some serious help with Champix.
It's been 90 days for me, (with help) and my first couple of weeks were hell, to the point i joked about going back to smoke so i could feel better.  . .I was surrounded by encouragement that my health will get better, - it did.
I am just starting to actually like not smoking, after having smoked for a lot of many years...I don't want, nor do I need a smoke!
I look forward to reading along with you and your cold turkey journey...
