Have been on the Champix for one month and quit two weeks ago. Going well so far. Am not drinking alcohol either - at least for awhile - that has always been my downfall in previous attempts.
Keeping myself busy - work, my home is really clean :), doing alot of cooking - healthy stuff so I don't gain weight, aiming for 10,000 steps a day. I set a new couple of small goals each week.
    So far, so good.

    Hi triplem,

Congratulations on your two smoke free weeks.  That really rocks!

It sounds like you are doing everything right.  Avoiding triggers (alcohol), keeping busy and setting small goals.  I really like the idea of setting manageable goals.  It helps to keep you motivated, rather than feeling discouraged.  I am now trying to lose some of the weight that I gained since I quit two years ago.  So I am also counting steps.  But for me, 8000 steps a day is awesome.  And I am going to have to give up alcohol, too.  Sigh . . .  Oh well, you know what they say.  No pain, no gain.  It will all be worth it in the end.

    Hi triplem,

Welcome to the community forums and congratulations on quitting two weeks ago! Great to hear that things are going well for you so far! As treepeo shared, it seems as though you're doing the right things by avoiding known triggers and keeping yourself busy with some of the other goals you have set for yourself. You can keep things going!

treepeo, congratulations on being smoke-free for two years! What a wonderful accomplishment! It sounds as though this achievement is motivating you to now make others. I want to provide some encouragement (as you do regularly for our members) that you can do this, as you already have made such a big change for yourself and your health by quitting smoking!

    Warmly,
    Kate R
