Hi All,
When planning a quit attempt it can sometimes help to try to pinpoint what sets off a craving. Elsewhere on SHL.ca, in the Preparing to Quit section, there's a page where you can list triggers as well as how you plan to cope with each.
Though everyone is different, in general triggers can be habitual (after a meal, with coffee, starting the car for instance), emotional (stress, boredom, feeling upset or happy for instance), physical (craving nicotine, patch), and sometimes environmental (being around smokers, sitting in that same chair that you've smoked in for years, etc.).
Thinking about this, if you've been able to pinpoint one, tell us what your craving is and how do you distract from it?
People have shared this common one with us:
Craving- Stress, Distraction- Deep Breathing
