Hi all, I’m new to the forum but not new to quitting. I’ve tried several times but this time is the first time I’ve wanted to quit without a reason other than I want to. I find that quitting because I really want to eliminated all the flimsy reasons I gave for starting back up. I’m bitchy on bad days even with cigarettes…. So I don’t believe me anymore so far as the temperament no sense. Lol

i won’t deny I look for excuses I give but now I’m wise enough to call myself out in it. Had a rough day today and thought I could really use a cigarette today. I could… but I realized I really don’t “need” it. I want it just like I want junk food but not weight gain. I can leave food alone:.. so I may want one but now I know - I don’t NEED one.

I’m feeling good about this time.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Congratulations on your decision to quit...There is lots of good post to read here that might be helpful..I found keeping busy, mint candies and changing my routine helped...Best of luck and I picked up a saying here..NOPE ...NOT ONE PUFF EVER...

I am almost 1 month smoke free and I smoked for 40 years. I just got to the point where I absolutely can’t stand those dirty, filthy disgusting things any longer! I’m coughing and hacking with headaches and enough is enough. I’m not paying a lot of money’s to kill my self. The whole process of smoking is so STUPID! I want to live the rest of my life a non smoker … I can honestly say that I have never felt better! SO many benefits…The benefits far outweigh the nicotine cravings, which don’t really last long. Good luck and never give in…

I went into this full steam ahead. I’ve tried to quit before but always had a reason. I wasn’t addicted… I just wanted to smoke. Well, I’m at a healthier view point that I’m not quitting for reasons that are easily excused. Some reason, I’m quitting because I want to. Period.

Well… I totally get the NOT ONE PUFF.. EVER. I did… and it drives home that yes, I am addicted. I am putting my setback behind me rather than using it as excuse to start again…. And I hope to live NOT ONE PUFF… EVER. I get it totally… there is no such thing as one puff. I’m a little disappointed in myself but I refuse to give up!

I have so much respect for those who quit or even attempt repeatedly because ya know what…. This shite is hard!
