Well I can't say that it has always been easy but my 3 month mark is today, Over the past 3 months I have continued with my walks Monday through Friday each morning, which I also find helps set my frame of mind for the day and is a big part of my physiotherapy, as a result my knee is getting stronger,  I have also be socializing a bit more, even trying a few things that are out of my comfort zone, when I smoked, I was always self conscience of where I was when I lit up,iIt has been nice having more pocket change and I do celebrate my milestones in big ways, rewarding myself for accomplishments that I make along the way, I feel that I need to be honest with all of you, that legalizing marijuana has got me a little nervous, every time I quit in the past, marijuana started me back to smoking cigarettes again, I guess I will just take things as they come and pray that by some miracle the change there minds and make weed illegal again, well thatsit for now, see you again in 3 months

Susanm, I will be praying for you and your knee replacement surgery, I have had a aweful time the last 3 years since I had my knee replacement, it is good that you are working up to it and exercising it, after your surgery it is so important that you do the physiotherapy, it will make all the difference in the world after your surgery, I am having a really hard time with mine, this is my 6 surgery that I am recovering from, I developed a flesh eating bacteria after a revision to my left knee, they saved my leg but sometimes I wish they hadn't I am in a wheelchair today, but that doesn't stop me from walking, I am kind of stuborn that way, anyway, let us know how your doing, and if you ever need to talk, I am here

    Hi smitty,

Congratulations on being smoke free for 3 months.  That is terrific, good for you!  I am glad to hear that you reward yourself.  You deserve to.  Quitting smoking is a big deal.

I can understand your concerns about them legalizing weed.  But the good news is, you already know that this is something that was your downfall in the past.  So you can take steps to change that.  It isn't legal yet, so try not to dwell on it.  When it happens, you will just have to find ways to deal with it.  And remember, we will all be here to help you through it.  You are not alone.

    Good morning smitty,

Congratulations for reaching your 3 months milestone! That’s awesome! What a great accomplishment and inspiration. Your hard work and perseverance is something to be really proud of – way to go! I really like your idea of rewarding yourself and celebrating your accomplishments along the way. Rewards work – even something small that you enjoy or anything special can boost your motivation. Keep up with those great strategies and positive frame of mind, you are doing fantastic!

Your awareness of what might triggers you to smoke again is so important – “marijuana started me back to smoking…” Knowing this can help you prepare and take steps to change that like treepeo said. Also, know that we are all here for you and we believe in you! Come by anytime just to let us know how you are doing.

Keep going strong and continuing success!
