    Hi everyone,

Yes, it's true, it has been 3 weeks and 1 day (22days - but it sounds longer, lol) that I haven't smoked. It has not always been easy; last night, after an incredibly stressful day at work, and being home and in a mood, my old me came out and REALLY wanting that smoke. My partner reminded me why I don't NEED that smoke...I went to bed instead.
    Today is another day.
Stay well people and enjoy the fresh air

Congratulations Nerak!  So happy for you!  I'm all wrangled up since yesterday too, and came on here to post and vent.  If you got through it, then I can too.  I have so many negative emotions and thinking that I'm not craving cigarettes but have an overwhelming urge to smoke just because I want to lash out.  I can kind of laugh at it now, but its tough getting through something so fleeting in the big picture, but so emotional and intense in the moment.  You did it now, so you'll be able to do it again, Bravo!!

3 weeks Nerak47, you got this!  Thoughts will come yet you are the one that can control the outcome.  And you have been doing amazing at that.  Your partner is such a support in helping to remind you of your motivation.

Each day is new, so the choice to go to sleep that night was the best ever.

Keep getting plenty of rest to refresh your mind and body.

Hi to you both and everyone else
And Ocean,  ain't that the truth.. being "in it" is intense and the most painful self talk of debate... The other night was a good learn for me - it helped me know difference btwn 'want' and 'need'.  As I said,  I wanted that smoke but I didn't need it.  Lashing out ~ indeed is what I wanted to do... I would have smoked that cigarette hard,  you bet I would have... and then I giggled and then me and partner laughed.  Its almost my version of throwing a temper tantrum,  is what made us laugh.

I know the tug to smoke is still strong in me,  I have a great cheerleading squad to remind and to congratulate . . the devil on 1 and angel on other... Which 1 to flick?  It is a challenge to remember thoughts and feelings are temporary - depends I guess,  how long I want to argue with myself... Lol

    Another smoke free day 🎂

    Hello Nerak47,

That is such great self-talk you are doing- defining need vs want to yourself in the moment.  And the fact that you can find humor in it so lightens the load.  The more we can laugh the less we focus on wants.

What else do you want that you know is beneficial to you?  Wants certainly have a place.  It would be great to think on these and how they can be your go-to in the moment.

    Cheering you on,

    Marianne
