I quit on December 11, 2017. I wanted to challenge myself to be smoke free through the holidays and all the cravings associated with the holidays (drinks, food, party's). The local health unit helped me tremendously with by supplying NRT patches via a health promotion they offered. I have purchased the nicorette mints to supplement me. This is the second time i have honestly tried to quit and i (knock on wood) it works. My cravings have really become manageable , i like to count 30 seconds, or chew on a straw, chew gum or snap a nicorette mint in half. This does the trick.  I could not be happier where i am at right now, i breathe easier, my workouts are better, overall this is the best thing i have done for myself . I appreciate the texts and now enjoy this forum to read other quit stories.

    Hi cdnkiter,

Woohoo!  Congratulations on making it through your first month!  I am glad that you are noticing positive changes since you quit.  It will just get better and better.  It's great that you have learned how to cope with the cravings.  The longer you remain smoke free, the fewer cravings you will get.  They will also be less intense.

Hang in there, you are doing great.  Keep the quit!
