    Hi Jacqui,

I know it's scary to even think about quitting.  But it's worth giving it a shot.  Try it and see how it goes.

Are you going to use any NRTs to help you out?

    Hi Jacqui,

Good for you for thinking about quitting and registering on this forum. Those are two very big steps.
I thought about quitting for one whole year - and set quit date after quit date and then panicked each  time before the big day.

I did addiction assessments, quit plans, bought Nicorette, lined up supports, bookmarked Smokers Help Line, reviewed my reasons for quitting.....for one year.  Then a big snow storm hit and I only had one cigarette left, and a bunch of Nicorette, so that was my quit date.  I was prepared and all I really needed was that unexpected push.  I'm on my way since March 5, and I feel great.  It hasn't been easy, but it has been well worth it  I love being a non smoker!
Whatever happens, keep working toward your goal, and let me know how you're doing!

Hello Jacqui Congratulations on Quit date....Remember that little white thing controlled your whole life. Now you are free ......that's how I looked at it. I smoked for 43 years and decided a year ago to eventually quit. I started to smoke a pack a day, then a pack every two days, a pack every three days and I changed some of my habits. I never smoked in my house so when I woke up I make a coffee, then I showered and then I had a smoke. Now I make myself breakfast, coffee and a shower, get dressed and off to work I go.
It has been ONE MONTH OF FREEDOM and I feel GREAT.....
