I couldn't agree more Eagerquit.
Pain is gain they say, but why make it harder on yourself.? If anyone has read any of my posts i usually have some valuable thoughts, insights or interesting experience. I am now smoke free 5 days and NO Cravings. They are expected for 3 days through the withdrawl of nicotine. (I went cold turkey) but not past that. Now they are no longer valid cravings.. they are just you still thinking you need a cigarette. Your mind is doing this... you don't get up from a dead sleep every hour to have a cigarette. You don't have to be miserable, that is preventable too. The brain makes dopamine, which makes you happy. Feed your brain what it needs. I made mashed banana with cocoa powder and froze them for small treats. Not only were they a bit of reward, but cocoa contains phenols that help the brain to produce more dopamines. Chocolate makes you happy, This treat is healthy and lower in calories than even the 80% cocao square. (depending on size) 3 or 4 won't hurt you. Even if you were to go through them all, (10-12) 1 banana and 5 tbs of cocoa are about 250 calories. For 3 days 750 calories are just a couple days of dieting in the future. After you quit, you will have more energy and probably just burn it off. naturally.
While discussing feeding the body, may I suggest a lung detox of ginger and turmeric , onions, water and honey. No diet, no fasting, just 2 TB. morning and 2 TBs night. They suppress appetite, and diminish cravings and led to my quitting without even knowing that that was going to happen in 1 week. You can find the recipe on line but consult a doctor if you are on medications. I stopped taking this today (Quit Day 6) but intend to incorporate the ingredients in my overall diet for their natural benefits. They are anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-oxidants and an anti-inflammatory well. I drink chicken broth with turmeric and ginger, add rice or noodles for a soup , i have tried fried onion with garlic and pinch of turmeric topped by melting cheese as a sandwich, Make a curry, for ginger and turmeric are both in the curry powder.
This program , the 4 D;s and being here for support is great, but may i advise you to take a look at the CBQ method for quitting. It is very informative and helpful. Feed your brain, for dopamines, Feed your body to rid of toxins and keep healthy, Feed your mind for knowledge and understanding. They do give valuable information in 2 free seminars before asking for your money. Use the knowledge you acquire , don't buy the program (at least until you apply what you have learned.) I have to say though that i do believe the program would indeed work. I can say this because although i had not seen the seminar, i had applied the steps. You can too!
