    Hello,
Well it has been 103 days and my resolve is still strong.
Interesting, month 3 has brought some new cravings.  This quit journey is never a dull moment.
In some ways it gets easier, but also I find myself lulled into this sense that I'm beyond the point that I want to smoke, and then I'll have a craving to smoke, out of the blue. I don't act on it, and get busy and get distracted, and it passes.
The smoker's help line sent me an email reminding me about the year of firsts. Seasons change, and old habits have died, but not the association that it brings to what I have done for many years.
This year,I am creating new associations, especially the association of being smoke free and being truly free!  Love my new freedom!

    Good Afternoon aurora,

Congrats on every one of those 103 days!

Really like how you've described how you have the craving hit out of the blue but they you don't act on it - great work! Also like how you are creating new associations and enjoying the freedom that comes from being smoke-free!

    Hi Aurora,

You have raised a really important issue.  At some point, I think we all get lulled into a false sense of security, and then pow, we get a craving out of the blue.  That is why we can never let ourselves become complacent.  It's a good idea to have a plan in place for these inevitable moments, so we know in advance how to deal with them.

Good on you Aurora!  I got lured back into smoking at about the 5 month mark.  I still fight the cravings and it feels very normal to fight them in most circumstances.  I don't smoke at all until about 3:30pm and it feels normal to fight cravings.  So it's not all bad.  But I need a super-power to beat the after work craves!  Your message is hopeful and soon I'll have 8 weeks off to beat those 'stress' craves.  I just got a 6 month call, I missed it, but it reminded me that I have so much more work to do, and to not let smoking cut into the rest of my day.
