Hi lilmissy,
Welcome to SHO! I am so glad your doctor told you about this site. There is a lot of really good information here. I suggest you read the milestones. They will help to guide you through the process of quitting smoking. And it is a process, so the more prepared you are, the better off you will be.
I can't tell you about Champix firsthand because I never used it, but hopefully other people will chime in to tell you about their experiences with it.
Lilmissy, it is hard to quit, I'm not going to lie. But it is also doable. You just have to really want to quit, and you have to be willing to change your routines and your way of thinking about things. If you read through the milestones on this site, you will get what I mean. Just take your time and if you have any questions, either ask here, or call the helpline and one of the quit coaches will help you.
Quitting smoking is one of the most important things you can do for yourself, as well as for your family and friends. Just take it one step at a time, and you will be fine.
