    Hey guys!

I've joined this forum because I'm still battling against my addiction, but so far now, I've progressed a lot. I've dropped it significantly and I've seen the impact in other areas of my life. I feel a lot better in general, a higher drive to accomplish my goals, even regarding my fitness (although I am bit out of shape, I'm getting better).

I've tried multiple things that have helped: meditation, vaping, long walks, working out, journaling and joining group activities. Also, I've started to read fiction a lot more.

I wanted to say hello and tell you all that it is possible to quit and that what matters is the progress you get every day, not the end goal. Focus on the process rather than the end results and you will feel a lot fulfilled! :)

    Hi cliquewest11,

What a great attitude, and that is going to go far for your success!

I'm glad you came here … if I hadn't joined this amazing community I would not have made it. The advice, support, encouragement and comradery is like nothing I've experienced.

Keep posting here, and read other posts when you can.

For me, this journey wasn't an easy one to say the least, but I am proud of my conviction to stay smoke free and the freedom is truly amazing.

Reach out whenever you need to. We will be right here with you.

    Hi cliquewest11,

Your post was so uplifting!  Thank you for sharing your success with us.

You are right.  The journey itself is important, and at some point you will reach your ultimate goal.  But as is so often the case, one goal leads to another, and then another.

When I was still a smoker, I didn't bother with physical activity too much because my breathing was so bad that there was no point.  But after I quit, I got a Fitbit and started tracking my steps per day.  Not only is it fun, but it sure is motivating.  And then I started looking into healthier foods to eat.  And I thought about other ways I could improve my life.  The thing is, quitting smoking gave me a lot of confidence, and it motivated me to improve my life in other ways as well.

So keep doing what you're doing and enjoying the journey.  I applaud your efforts and love your positivity.  I have no doubt that one day you will join the ranks of a non-smoker.
