    Good day everyone
Yes, it's true! I am waking up to the start of my 8th day...who wudda thunk?
Talk about commitment - holy jeeburs...today feels a little more relaxed for me, as compare to last few days. My bad that I cannot remember who wrote it but, fighting IS exhausting!
I'm still amazed at how smoking has influenced every aspect of my life- and how ignorant I was about it before. Strangely the 1 thing I'm liking most in this - freezing weather is~~ not bundling up to go outside to freeze while I smoked. I like staying warm!
I feel ok today, however, still feeling like in survival mode and not able to enjoy not smoking - I know the day will come, just not this day.
Thank you all for the replies, I do read and they do help.

    Hello Nerak47,

So good to hear you are feeling more relaxed.  And are happy not to have to go outside to freeze as you did before.

Highlighting all the good things will help you get past the survival mode.

    Have an enjoyable day today!

    Marianne

Congratualtions Nerak!!  You know what they say, if you can make it a week your odds of being successful are greatened!  Of course it depends on what you think success is!  I can still only think in chunks of time, like morning and afternoon/evening, I cannot really think beyond that and I'm glad.  But it's fun when we see we hit a milestone!  You did it, and I know how hard you've fought for this privilige.    I have noticed a difference and you will too.  I hope you treat yourself to something, you've saved some money this last week.  Bravo!

    Hi nerak47,

Congratulations on your 1 week smoke free.  As further you go, you will feel more relaxed and you will sleep better.  It gets better and better as you move on.

Thank you all for the uplifting and encouraging sentiments!

Ocean! me too...I can see in chunks of time! And some days, only in half hr spurts.  And yes, it is a successful feeling seeing I have been smoke free for 11 days. Being smoke free hasn't quite registered with me just yet, but keeping track of is fun.
I feel I am being forced to live in the 'now' ~ when I start to think "I have only 4 more days until I have 2 full and complete weeks", that's when I start to feel really anxious..so, keeping time frame really small (baby steps), is what i need. And I totally agree again, hitting those milestone is fun!

And another smoke free day continues
