    Hi Lynnurban9,

I remember only too well those pesky cravings that were trying to convince me that I could never quit smoking and must return to my habit. That was three and a half months ago and I am happy to say that I have not had the cravings for a while now. I have found the 4 D's most helpful throughout my quit:

Delay. The urge will pass whether you smoke or not.
    Deep breathe.
    Drink water.
Do something to take your mind off smoking.

You can also phone the smoker's helpline for personal support.

Wishing you another smoke free day.

    Eagerquit

    Hi lynnurban9

Hang in there, those moments will pass.
Distract yourself, drink water or do something else.
    Go for a walk!

    You can do it!

    Hi lynnurban9,

Welcome and congratulations for all the hard work you’ve done to reach this day! I’m sorry to hear about the tough time that you had with the cravings. They can be strong and last for a while but they usually fade and go away with time. Hang in there lynnurban9. The process of quitting can be challenging but things usually get easier and better with time. The fact that you don’t give up during the tough time is so great. Keep going strong!

People find helpful to have different ways to occupy their hands, mouth and mind, and work on replacing old routines with new ones. Having a plan for tempting situations and reaching for your support system can also be helpful. You can also call us at 1-877-513-5333. We are all here for you and we believe in you. Hi lynnurban9,

Yikes, I get it.  Quitting is hard, but it's so worth it.  Congrats on your 3 very hard earned weeks.  Good for you, and keep it going.

You deserve to live a smoke free life.  Remember the most important motto, NOPE, Not One Puff Ever.  Stick to that and you will be okay.

We are all here for you.  Distract yourself and drink water to get rid of the toxins in your body.  Start your life fresh.  Quitting smoking is amazing!

Hello agafinka.  i see you had been aiming for the end of july for your quit date.   i am here to support you with that.  i saw something in an earlier post that may be helpful.  it was new to me.  the acronym NOPE......."Not One Puff Ever"  once you have made that committment and are on the threshold of smoking and being smoke free.  they tell me i am more than half way through my first quit month, and frankly the best feeling is that i do not have it on my mind 24/7 anymore.  i was able to replace the early smoking with a completely different routine.  i decided i wanted to make a daily entry in my journal, which i had fallen behind on.  so that is what i start every day with now,  thoughts of the recent past, and what will happen in my day, more or less.  also, employed KEEPING, MIND, MOUTH, HANDS busy.   Y      o       u            c       a      n          d    o

How are you feeling Blewis?  Is it getting easier as time goes by?  Good for you for sticking it out for a week.  I've read that if you make it one week, you're 9 times more likely to kick this!  Keep it up, rooting for you!  Been four days for me, and doing pretty good.  Cravings seem to be there all the time, but so far, not too hard to resist.
