My quit date is September1 and I have a lot of both negative and positive anticipation since I've attempted this so many times.  I'll give it my best shot and hope to use the forum for support and quitting.  How do I get a coach?

    HI Fedup,

Congratulations on your decision to quit on September 1. I too made many attempts until I said enough is enough and I am now about five and a half months smoke free. Having a clear quit plan can be helpful. I wrote out a list of my reasons for quitting and keep that in front of me. I also set up rewards for milestones along the way.

I hope to hear more from you as you progress.

    Hi fedup,

The thought of quitting can be a little scary, because we all know it is hard to do.  But it's not impossible.  You will find a lot of useful information on this site to help you quit.  The more prepared you are, the more likely you are to quit.

Countdown to freedom and a healthier life!

It is difficult, but it is in all of us to succeed.
I keep this poster in my briefcase - "It will hurt.  It will take time.  It will require dedication.  It will require willpower.  You will need to make healthy decisions.  It requires sacrifice.  You will need to push your body to its max.  There will be temptation.  But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's worth it."   I find reading this a great way to bust a craving.

Hey, how you doing, my name is smitty, I have been quit now for almost 4months, its getting pretty rough eh, I quit by using a combo tharapy of the patch and the spray, i planned my quit carefully, went to my doctor and he refured me to a quit coach, she supplied the patches and the
spray for me free of charge, the only catch was that I follow the plan, Ifo followed the plan and then I realized one day that its been 3 weeks since I last used a patch, the thing is fedup, what works for me, may not work for you, you have to figure out something that works for you, I
would suggest that you go see your family doctor and see if you can get into a smoking cessation program, I am not saying that you cant do it cold turkey but you will stand a better chance if you get some help, all the best

    treepo, jeyan, efreeman75 and smitty,

thanks to you all for sharing your strategies and encouragement.

The overall theme here is quitting is not impossible because we are in charge, not the cigarette.

    Appreciate it,

    Jenna Lee

Thanks so much to everyone for your support.  I keep waffling in my mind but I'm going to persist and review my reasons to quit.  You all offer wonderful suggestions and I've made a list of them.  I'm really tired of trying it by myself and setting myself up.  Thanks again.
