I have patches ready to go. I keep postponing the quit date...tomorrow,  the next day, the next.

    Hello Rpella,

Good that you have your patches ready to go! I know it can be difficult to come up with a quit day, but it is often a good idea to have a quit day, since it gives you some direction and focus. Maybe try a "practice quit" for half a day or more if you can. That way it is not so overwhelming.

    All the best!

    Hi rpella,

I am an expert procrastinator myself but when it came to cigarettes, I said "Enough is Enough!" I prepared a list of serious issues with smoking and still keep that list in front of me. Write your own list and it could lead you to pulling the trigger on that miserable habit.

Wishing you all the best in your quit.

    Hi rpella,

I used to put off quitting, too.  But this time, I told myself I would quit while I was off work at Christmas.  I told myself that no matter what, I would go back to work as a non-smoker.  And I did it.  That was 1.8 years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made.

Eagerquit is right.  Make a list of all of the reasons why you want to quit, and then pick a date and take the plunge.  Hopefully, the patch will help you in your quit.
