10 years - I could not have done it without this site, my family, my doctor and pharmacist.  I practically lived here for the first year - day in and day out support.  Smoked for 40 years and thought I'd never be able to quit.  So many little things that kept me going like one of my favorite sayings : "If I have just one I'll be right back where I started and where I started was wishing desperately to be be where I am right now"

Anyways, just wanted to pop in and say thanks for being here when I needed you most.

Well done violet56!  I smoked for decades, and your story tells me that hope springs eternal.  And it's so true that support from the right people makes all the difference.  And as you say, all the little things that keep a person going.
violet I hope that you are celebrating your 10 year victory in a wonderful and meaningful way.  10 years is a serious achievement and you have earned every right to be so pleased and proud.  Thank you for sharing with those of us who are still on the journey.

    Hi violet56,

Thank you so much for sharing your success and your insights. I especially like the quote that you shared. We are so happy that our site helped provide the necessary support, and I know that you've given great support in return.

CONGRATS! on ten years smoke-free! And I agree with optimist: time to celebrate your terrific achievement.

    Hi violet56,

Way to go on being a non-smoker for 10 years!  That is awesome!

That quote is right on the money.  Our addiction will tempt us from time to time, so we have to remember where we started from and where we are today.  We can never take our quits for granted, because what we have achieved is precious and worth safeguarding.  I am so glad you have stayed the course all these years.  Do something nice for yourself to celebrate.  You deserve it!
