Erbsville, we have the same quit date!   It is hard, but wow..only a few that's amazing.  Don't lose the focus, it is hard but it's going to get easier.  Ride the craving wave, it won't last long, distract, use a lozenge, whatever works to get thru the moment.  Hang in there, we can celebrate our 1 week, 1 month, 1 year on here together.

Thanks and congrats...i know I have slipped but am determined to beat this...i have no access to smokes right now so I guess that's a good thing...the mornings are hardest and right after supper...might sound funny but bought a coloring book with markers to keep my hands busy when a craving comes on...seems to be working...all the best to you..

    Congratulations Erbsville and Smokefreesteph,

Every day away from smoking is a healthy one. You have now put some of those together. Discarding smokes and smoking stuff such as lighters and ashtrays gets things associated with the habit out of sight and out of mind. My current distraction is writing a pictorial biography of my grandfather who died in 1979. It has taken my mind off smoking for a lot of productive hours.

I had your same problems may I suggest you try either the mist or lozenges rather than the gum they seem to settle things down very fast.  Have not had a smoke since Jan.21st and don’t miss it.  I also am on the patch.
