    Hi all,

I am very new, only ending day 3 smoke free. I am on step 2 of the patch and both nights so far have been very bad dreams and waking up very tired. I am taking my patch off around 1045 at night - is this too late and that’s what’s causing the dreams? I kept it on longer because nighttime is when I usually smoke the most.

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

    Hi Lauren,

Congratulations on 3 days smoke free!

Having vivid dreams or nightmares can be very common when wearing the patch. If it is disrupting your sleep too much you can certainly take it off before bed. It's usually recommended to take it off 1-2 hours before going to bed to help with this side effect.

As you mentioned above, the evening was a time where you would have smoked the most. So without the patch, you may want to have some alternate strategies to help you get through those cravings. Maybe something to help keep you busy and take you mind off any urges.

    All the best,
    Emily

Im just finished the 10 week Patch program. At the start I was having vivid dreams every night that seemed so real. I would wake up 2 or 3 times. But as the weeks wore on that happened less. Its completely normal. I used the spray mist as well when the cravings were strong and I still have that now 11 weeks in.

Hang on in there. it does get better
