    Hi Everyone
I quit smoking 1xweek ago and it's going ok .I'm using the nicorette inhaler. I didn't want to buy any more refills but decided that I should. I'm sure it's helping take the edge off and helping me to stay smoke free . So for now it's ok .I bought two more packs of 42 cartridges .When they're gone that'll be it .Has anyone else used these and if so did you taper down or just stop? I don't want ti keep spending mo ey on this but I also don't want to slip up .I'm uncertain how much this is helping and I won't know until I stop. What's your experience. Any advice? Ty

    Hi Marion77

Congrats in 1 week smoke free! Look the Nrt is up to you! I think you need to to consult with your Doctor or Pharmacist, depend how addicted you were!

I quit last 2015 still using the Inhaler when I need it!
Is how sure you are if you do not have it? You week 1 week ago, I will have it for few weeks more....until you are Confident to Keep the quit!

After all be a Non Smoker is to win the Battle!

    Hi marion777,

Congratulations on being smoke free for a whole week.  That is amazing, and you should be so proud of yourself!

I don't know anything about inhalers, but anything that helps you to keep your quit is worth using.  Nothing is worse than smoking.  So maybe just see how you feel.  When you think you may be okay to stop using it, make sure you still have it available in case you end up struggling.  Do whatever you have to do to keep your quit.  That is the most important thing.

    Hi Marion777,

Congratulations on a week smoke free. I used lozenges and gum and tapered off gradually over about three months. I agree with treepeo that even after your taper you should keep the inhaler available just in case.

    Wishing you every success.

    Hi Marion777,

You can check with your pharmacist, but generally quit aids like the nicotine inhaler are intended to be used for 2-3 months during the quit process. You can stop the regimen abruptly or taper down, depending on you you are feeling.

Definitely don't hesitate to use it though; it's purpose is to ease cravings and withdrawals and make quitting easier. It is safe and effective for quitting. Specially since you mentioned you do not want to slip up, the product is a great thing to keep on hand for those tough moments like eagerquit and brieffree mentioned.

Some other good news: people who quit for 1 week are 9X more likely to quit for good! Also people who quit using a quit method double their chances too, so you definitely have a lot going for you. That is why we run our First Week Challenge contest that you can register for If it interests you, and if you have not done so already. Quit for the 1st week of Sept for a chance to win $500!

Additionally, If you need financial support with purchasing the nicotine replacement therapy, you can call us at 1-877-513-5333 and we can look into resources for you.

    Hope this helps,

    Jenna Lee
