    Hello everyone!

I didn't think it was possible but I have 50 days smoke free. I quit by using the patch and gum and now I'm just using the gum. I had to take it slow weaning off the nicotine or my anxiety would bother me. I still get cravings but they are mild and easy to deal with now. It was one of my quit strategies to get things that made my house smell nice and then enjoy taking nice deep breaths to calm my nerves and enjoy the scents. I am, for the most part, thrilled about my new non-smoking life, enjoying my freedom and my keen sense of smell.

Wishing you all a great smoke free day.

    Hi quitfriend,

Way to go!  You are absolutely doing all the right things.  You know yourself best, and what will work for you, and that is what has gotten you to this point.  Keep up the good work!

Isn't it nice to know you smell good, and that you can appreciate other pleasant smells that you couldn't really appreciate before?  I know we are isolating ourselves right now, but there will come a time when we can go outside again.  Just wait until you smell freshly cut grass as a non-smoker.  Or freshly baked bread, or brewed coffee.  It truly is amazing!  People who have never smoked probably think we're nuts, but who cares?  I was like a kid in a candy store, just appreciating all of the things that changed for the better once I quit smoking.  And even today, over 3 years later, I still pinch myself and think with wonder how much better my life is now that I stopped smoking.

I am really happy to hear how much progress you have made, quitfriend.  You should be really proud of yourself!  Stay safe and stay strong.  And remember NOPE (Not One Puff Ever).
