   pets are unique, like your sun, sister or so...
   I do not gave a dog, but my Daughter had and when I took care of him Ho my! is like my sun and I defrost my self!

   Hi All,
   
   In August, I set up a ten gallon aquarium with two active Copbys and four very colourful neon tetras. It is fascinating to watch them put on their show, very restful and relaxing too. I can just sit and watch the display. I paid for the set up from money I saved by not smoking and it is a dazzling reward for my smoke free life.

   I have two cats.  As far as I know, however, neither have ever smoked!
   
   (Lol - that's the first thing that came to my mind, sorry :)
   
   Now I'm just picturing my cat with a cigarette dangling out it's mouth - Friday smile!

   I have three cats.  I kept a  mommy cat, who I found in my parking garage  (who originally had 7 kittens) and two of her babies.  I think the runt may start smoking, she's into everything!  Another good reason why I ripped and threw out any cigarettes that were left!
   Another Friday smile :)

   Looks like pets are a great reward for quitting, and a motivator to not smoke since we don't want to be a bad role model (haha)!!
   
   In all seriousness though, I think we can all agree that it would be awful for them to get into a pack.

   And Rosie, I agree you gotta watch out for the runts.  The youngest born are always the problem!!!!!!

   My tropical fish would have a very hard time smoking. The cigarettes would not stay lit!

   I've been told by more than one person who's quit smoking that their cats seem to purr more and want to spend more time with them now that they've quit. 
   
   I've also heard from lots of people that their pets give significant added motivation to quit, whether it's concern over their pet's well-being or wanting to be able to be healthy enough to look after Fido (or Spot).
