”If a person smokes a pack a day, and it takes seven minutes to smoke a cigarette, that’s 140 minutes a day, almost two-and-one-half hours spent smoking rather than doing something productive”.

Thank you for sharing this important quote, carmpage.
It really is a remarkable amount of time gained once someone has gone smoke-free.
Often, people will get to explore new and interesting hobbies/interests to fill their new-found time! Which can be really exciting, and something to look forward to....
SHL.ca community, what new distractions did you discover when you quit ?

Hi Carmpage, so interesting!  Maybe this is why I feel 140 minutes of craving instead of 5 minutes?

    Too funny, Ocean!

Carmpage, I quit smoking on December 29th of last year, and I regained 728 hours that I would have spent smoking.  Isn't that something?  It's just mind-blowing how much time we wasted on smoking.

You know what, Sarah?  It's not that I started any new hobbies or anything.  Rather, I find that I am really present with people now.  Before, when I was a smoker, I spent so much of my time thinking about my next fix, that sometimes I didn't fully pay attention to what someone else was saying.  I know that sounds awful, but it is the truth.  But now that I am free of my addiction, I am more fully engaged when I am with my friends and family.
