Tomorrow is my quit day and I'm ready. I just got an email from Smokers Helpline and it made me emotional. I'm not used to having people check up on me and tell me they are there for me, other than my boys.
I am facing knee replacement surgery at the end of next month. That in itself isn't a problem as I've already had one done 12 years ago with no problems. However, the one child I have that lives close and has always been there for my surgeries is moving out of province before my surgery. This will be my biggest obstacle for quitting.
I'm glad you are all here for me!! Tomorrow I WILL be smoke free!!

HEY THERE SUSANM  I OFFER YOU A HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FIRST DAY.  SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN DOING SOME PLANNING IN ADVANCE OF YOUR QUIT AND THAT IS FANTASTIC !!!  WE ARE AN AMAZING BUNCH OF QUITTERS IN HERE AND WE LOVE ADDING TO OUR BIG FAMILY.  WHEN I FIRST JOINED I WAS AFRAID OF MY OWN SHADOW AND WAS TOTALLY PERPLEXED AT HOW CARING EVERYONE IN SHO WAS TO ME.  THEY STILL ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE VERY NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART.  I HAD KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY DONE ON BOTH KNEES AND YOU ARE SO  RIGHT TO TRY TO REMAIN SMOKE FREE BECAUSE IT MAKES IT SO MUCH EASIER POST SURGERY IF YOUR LUNGS DON'T HAVE TO BATTLE THE NICOTEIN FOR LARGER BREATHS. THIS IS A WONDERFUL WHAT YOU ARE DOING FOR YOURSELF AND COME VISIT OFTEN AND POST POST POST TO OCCUPY YOURSELF AND BESIDES WE ALL CARE ABOUT HOW YOU MAKE OUT WITH YOUR SURGERY.  HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY MY NEW FRIEND AND MAY THE SUN ALWAYS SHINE ON YOU

Thank you mdjsunshine! The cravings weren't so bad this morning but, they are really kicking in now. I have tic tacs and frozen grapes on hand as well as my water beside me. Went for a nice long walk through Edwards Gardens this afternoon and now it's time to knit and rest this poor old body. I love all the support! It is making this day that much easier.
