    Hi sarah, my quit date will be in three weeks, or so.  I've been cutting down and I'm still in the preparing stage.  I'm smoking half of what I normally do without any quit aides.  I have a counseliing session with a nurse at the beginning of January 2018 to talk quit aides to get off the last half a pack a day.  I'll post later on with my actual "Quit Date" so it is forever online, lol!

    Hi There

    My Quit date was: June 07/2015

    Since then, I been in a roller coaster of crazy feelings, days with a lot of confidence, others with No. Did I sleep? sure, did relapse for a bit. 

    I have more day's smoke free that I never image in my life! 917

    Good morning,

    My quit date was November 10, 2017.    I do have to say that I feel better.  I intend to put the patch for another 3 weeks.  I breath better and eat healthy foods.  I did not gain any pounds.  I feel free now but at times I miss the cigarette.  
    This website is very helpful to me.  Every morning I post that I Pledge to remain smoke free all day.  I also post 2 Quotes each day and post to give support.
    Now the challenge is to stay Quit.

    Hi clepage,

    It is great that you pledge to stay smoke free every day.  That should really help you to stay motivated.  I know what it's like to miss cigarettes.  I think we all go through that on occasion.  But the good news is that the longer you stay smoke free, the less you will think about smoking.  You may think about it in terms of how much better you feel, or how much more freedom you have.  But you will stop missing the physical act of smoking.  In fact, at some point you will see smokers on the street or elsewhere and think, "I'm so glad that's not me".

    You are doing great, clepage.  You are almost at two months.  Keep doing what you're doing because it is working for you.  And enjoy your new life as a non-smoker!

    I quit and went right back to it so i am a bit leary of posting a quit date  but today is day 2 and feeling pretty strong  seeing others anniversary dates  that are a year makes me believe i can do it

    Hi Sarah, 

    30 days smoke free.  I look and feel so much better.  I have saved 351.00 - money I really never had to spend on cigarettes.  Cravings are minimized and doing pretty good with medication and smoking cessation therapy.  Smoker's helpline have been instrumental in this process.

    Hello Everyone,

    Thank you for posting your quit dates as really helpful to have on hand.  

    Clepage- hope all is well with patch.  And so great to hear your feeling better and having a sense of freedom.  Keep up with the pledges and posting a few daily quotes like you said it does help you and others indeed.  

    Decided- hope your coming along well- you can do it!  Keep us posted for support.  Others journeys do give hope.  

    Percey- 30 days and going strong!  Feeling and looking better + saving money- kudos to you!  And we have terrific members- agreed!

    today is day 11 and still feeling strong
    i still do not hang out with smokers
    i rarely think about quitting anymore  it is just the way things are
    thnx to everyone for their support

    The afternoon of Super Bowl Sunday February 7, 2016, I had my last drag, and flicked that smoke as far as I could!  To this day, I still get caught off guard by that soul sucking addiction and could easily run to the store and buy that pack of smokes.  I still use the wait 10 minutes method and the urge passes.  I can go weeks/months without thinking about smoking then BAM!...I have just accepted that the urge will always be there.....A few months ago I was having a conversation with myself...I was reasoning why I could go to the store and buy a pack while waiting for those 10 minutes to pass..."You can just quit again" I told myself..."No big deal you can quit again after this pack"...HA!  then I remembered the hell I went through when I first quit, I never want to do that again ever!  I am a non smoker now.   HOLY!!!!!!!! That is how powerful that nicotine is for me!  We all have our vice and nicotine is mine!!!  So coming up 2 years and I have saved over $10,000 and I feel free and in control rather than the cigarette controlling me!!!......Rockin my Quit..........GOT TO

    My quit date was December 29, 2016.  It wasn't the actual date that was important to me.  Rather, I was on Christmas vacation, and I just decided that I was going to change my life before going back to work, and that I was going to go back as a non-smoker.  I was really motivated, but man did I struggle.  Some days were truly horrific.

    But holy cow, I stuck with it, and now I really am a non-smoker!  And I agree with Got To.  I NEVER want to go through that hell again.  Once was bad enough.  So the odd time when I feel that pull, I tell myself to get real, because it just ain't worth it.  Life is so much better on this side!

    I had set my new quit date for February 5th and was preparing for that date. Yesterday I had a wake up call when the closest person to me, other than myself, was told that smokers have a higher risk of developing infection after surgery than non-smokers. It made me realize, in a very real way, what I may be doing to myself if I continue to smoke. I was sitting here today, with my patch in hand, and I realized that in spite of my fears of quitting, I did not want to smoke any longer. So I guess today is my quit date. I just have to trust that I have done enough preparing and am ready to handle whatever comes my way.

    Hi Quitfriend,

    Sometimes we do need a wake up call.  I would rather have fears about quitting than have fears about how I was going to handle an invasive surgery and recovery.  And it's true.  Smoking affects your whole body, even your eyes.  So the sooner you can quit, the better off you will be.

    I hope the patch helps you get through your quit.  For extra motivation, maybe you should read about all of the benefits of quitting.  There is a ton of stuff here and elsewhere online for you to look at.  That's what I did, and it helped to keep me going.

    Remember to take it one step at a time.  And have faith in yourself.  You can do this!

    I quit on Monday, January 15th, 2018.  I'm still couting by the half days, and I'm very commited.

    ts Been 3 Months and 14 days  Fix that  Please ,    Do not ask  to Upload my cell phone to have the  New App .  I have an older Cell Phone,

    Right back atcha, Wimporswim!  Look at us - we have started on our second year smoke free.  Shocking, but awesome, too, eh?  Not too shabby for two oldies but goodies who smoked for over 40 years.  Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

    It's so nice to see you back here!

    I can understand that you have mixed feelings about your new quit date.  It's never easy to really commit to a quit.  But give it a shot and see what happens.  Use your earlier attempt as a learning experience.  I'm sure you learned what some of your triggers are.  Maybe you can avoid them.

    I wish you the best of luck, saintjohnquitter506.  Please stay in touch and keep us posted.  I will be going away on Saturday but I'm sure you will get lots of support from other people here who are going through the same things you are.  Hopefully, tomorrow will be a good day for you.

    Hi saintjohnquitter506, i quit January 11 2018 and it 36 days today,...very proud because the second week was horrible,i was so tired i and no energy, i feel like i had sand in my vein ouff!...what a poison...at Christmas i quit my Vodka and pop too so when i decided to quit my cigarettes my body had a bigggg reaction....no more sugar,no more alcool and no more chemicals....was very hard but tiday i feel so good,i drink a lot of water and its help a lots so you can do it too......think one day at the time and each day its a big victory...good luck!!!

    My quit date is March 31. I seem to be moving faster than i thought i could. Im now at 6 ciggerettes a day. Monday i plan to be at 5 a day.

    It is so great to hear of your quit dates.  

    Wimporswim and Treepeo- on year 2, how exciting!  You will have a lot to share with members going through the seasons as a non-smoker, curious to hear how that feels for you now.  And empowering isn't it to have climbed so far up after smoking for the time you have.  

    Saintjohnquitter506- thank you for sharing your date.  Feel free to share with us how you are doing.  

    Dedi- your going strong, what a start to your new year!  A lot of major changes for you.  

    Tanyat- you have set the date, good going. You certainly have time to taper off at a good pace.  Judge how you feel and like you said you may move that date up after all.  

    Thinking of you all on your quit journey!  Even though your timelines of quitting vary, so much to relate to with each other.  You are all so committed and we are so proud of you!

    1 month since my quit date. What I don't miss: (1) that annoying and ever worsening morning cough. The cough that lasted through the day. The wheezing that accompanied the cough. (2) the debit going through my bank account each time I bought a pack of smokes.
