Hi Friends, I have reached my 900 days smoke free now!! Closing in on the 3 years mark. :)  I saved over $8,000 just in smoke in these 900 days.  I used to smoke half pack to a pack a day prior to my last quit. I get absolutely no cravings now. I am now living the normal life as a non-smoker, and no longer smell like a cigarette the whole day.  We can do this!!! Just keep trying.

    Jeyan,

Congrats on 900 days being a non-smoker! I just passed 90 days and am feeling proud of that, at 900 days you must be thrilled to be living the good life.

You know, posts of yours, and some of the other long-time 'non'smokers', were and are a real incentive and motivator for me. I always thought that if your did it and don't miss or crave smoking, then I can do it too.

Now - go out there and plan a real big celebration for 3 years and let us all know how it goes.

turningpoint, when I stopped smoking - it was hard as hell. So the only thing that helped me to stay "alive" in that situation is home exercises. I mean physical workout. I bought an inversion table and it is one of the best purchases I've ever done.

Hi Jenna, I enjoyed being a non smoker, not smelling like a cigarette the whole day, being free of addiction, not having to lie to loved ones that I didn't smoke when I did, health improvements, etc. :)  Quitting gave me so much confidence, that I slowly learned to run 10ks at my own pace, smoothing I always though I could never do even when I was in the prime of my shape in the teens and the early 20's when I didn't smoke.

    Hi Guys,

I have now passed my 1000 days mark and nearing three years of smoke free.  I rarely get craving any more, and my health and lungs have improved so much to a point that I can run 10kms at my own pace 3 times a week. I have also saved over $10k+ easily over these years, as well can handle my emotions in different ways.  I have smoked for 10+ years half pack to pack a day, and worked on my quit for 3 years, before I got it correct, which is never another puff ever. My message for all of you who are starting this quit now is never ever give up quitting. Learning to quit is like learning to ride a bicycle. Slips are part of the quit, don't get discouraged when you relapse, just go back to your quit next day and eventually you will learn to quit forever.  If it will help your quit smoking then eat as much junk food as possible, watch as many movies, surf the internet, etc. Nothing is as bad as smoking, and losing weight or adjusting your screen time is easier than quitting smoking. Also, you need to work on improving your habits support your quit as some bad habits you developed over the years act as a trigger for your cravings.
