I posted yesterday. I have great difficulty sleeping a normal schedule, so that's why I'm writing in the
wee hours of the morning. I quit at 1:30 a.m. this morning, when I got up.
I have a decent week coming up, but mostly I'll try to distract myself
(Suggestions appreciated). Here goes to the madness of quitting nicotine. Thanks for reading.

Hello Gomez - happy day #1 of your quit. Hope your morning is going well so far.
Quitting during a week where you have low stress and lots of distractions was good planning on your part. Often activities that keep your hands & your mind busy work well - people like to knit/crochet, bake, or use a fidget tool in between their fingers.
Are you using any quit aids, or are you going at it cold turkey?
Keep in touch, and thank you for posting!
    Warm regards
    Sarah

    Gomez,

    Congrats on starting your quit.

Drink lots of water. I mena lots. It helps

Toss out all your smoking stuff - lighters, smoke packs, ashtrays, butt cans.

Buy some Lysol and go to town spraying everywhere you used to smoke indoors (car, garage, house, shed).

    Wash all you jackets.

Just take it one hour at a time for now.

I was on the quickmist. I got down to once an hour over a month. I use a memory game when I have cravings, it seems to help. I used it 4x so far this morning. So I'm not going cold turkey, thank goodness.

    Hi Lisa,

Quick Mist is another term for nicotine replacement therapy oral spray. The oral spray is a liquid that is sprayed into the mouth. When sprayed, the vapour releases nicotine that is absorbed through the lining of the mouth.
