    Hi All. I’m on day 47 of not smoking. I’m on the 7mg patch. The cravings are getting much better but I’m scared to stop using a patch. Since I smoked for 50 years I have to be very careful. Any suggestions?  I’ve been reducing the hours I wear it to about 7 now. I tried not using it for 1 day & it was hard. Used the inhaler a bit more than normal. I’m using 2 cartridges daily. Thanks so much for all the support. You guys are the best!!

    Hi Alice,

    Many people use the quit aids 2-3 months after quitting, so there is definitely no rush to get off of them. They are safe to use and do not cause cancer.

    Thanks for this. I will stay on the patch a bit longer then. i tried again today & don’t think I’m ready to give it up yet. I am determined not to smoke. Thanks for helping me.

    Did well on the patch and gum for three months right on the thrid month I slipped and bought a pack and smoked for two days and stop again now for 10dsys smoked for 40 years still everyday is a very hard  when will this nightmare end everyday a struggle don't no what keeps me going HELP

    Hi Alayshas, 

    Firstly, congratulations on quitting smoking!

    Slips can happen in a quit, but it's great to hear that you got right back on track with it and didn't continue to smoke. I know it can be a struggle sometimes but this is obviously very important to you as you've been quit for over 3 months. That's a lot of hard work you've put in. 

    What seems to be your biggest challenges in quitting? Do you have any plans to help you get through these difficult moments?

    I'm not sure if you've had much time to read through the posts here on our site, but there are a lot of suggestions to help when the cravings come up.
