Just came back from haven fallen off the wagon for a few years. This stupid cig had me back hooked. I am on the patch and losanges. Last time was with medication but this time wanted the less chemical way. Had a few cravings but was able to overcome them. I find it had not to be able to call and talk to a live person anymore. The government should reinstate the quit line not Telehealth who just give general advice. I do have follow up from cancer society but sometime I need more. Hopefully this is the last time I quit and stay quit for good. Had been smoking for 28 years with the max out of it like 10 months or something.

Hi me_n_freedom and one day at a time,

    Congratulations on starting your quits!

Me_n_freedom, I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting all of the support that you could use at this time. Please feel free to come to the site and post as much as you need to. As you can see there are many supporters here. You're also welcome to take full advantage of our Quit Coaches digitally by using our live chat and text to chat options.

Looking forward to hearing about both of your quit journeys.

    Emily

Yeah not easy sometimes, we can do this. It's so cold, makes it easy and saves us from going out in the cold. I do sleep better and the urges are less severe. I can't text cuz my number (imported in Ontario where I live, has a different area code and the system says I cannot connect via text as I am not in the covered area).
I just really prefer the human nature of interacting in person over the phone in a real conversation.
I still feel like I lost something, sometimes my mood goes down and I have to focus on the positive but it's not always a breeze. Hope it gets easier with time...

    Hi me_n_freedom,

It's great that you have decided to quit again.   Smoking becomes such an ingrained habit that we all feel like we've lost something when we quit.  But in reality, all we have lost is a filthy, destructive habit that costs a fortune and slowly kills us.

It will get easier as time goes on.  Hang in there.  You have quit before and you can quit again.  Believe in yourself.  You can do this!

    Thank you wandam,
Now been a little over 2 weeks, it still gets hard to cope sometimes, running out of option to keep busy. Think napping will have to be added to my artillery of options.
How do you guys cope with the craving when they seek in?
You are right, we are doing this!!!
