I'm terrified, I have set July 1st as my quit date. I'm fearful that I will not succeed again. I realize I cannot do this by myself. I need help!

    Hi Kaffykay,

Welcome to the Smokers Helpline Forums and congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. I quit myself over three months ago and found the forums here very helpful with all the information they contain and the support given by so many others who also went smoke free. I can certainly understand your fear. I found that having a quit plan and setting up a list of reasons for quitting and placing them prominently where I can see them helped a lot. I also have a bucket list of rewards for the success of my quit.

You can also get support from a quit coach over the phone by calling 1-877-513-5333.

Wishing you every success with your quit plan.

    Eagerquit

    Good evening Kaffykay,

Welcome to the forum. As Easgerquit and Brieffree said we are all here to support you throughout your quit journey, so feel free to share your successes and challenges.

Keep in mind that with each quit attempt you learn about yourself as a non-smoker and grow personally. Perhaps look back at what did work for you during past attempts and what were some of your challenges, come up with a list of new strategies that you would like to implement and see what works best for you.

As Eagerquit said feel free to reach out to a quit coach over at Smokers'Helpline, 1-877-513-5333.

Keep on trying and not giving up is key!
Looking forward to hear about your journey.

    Valerie

    Hi kaffykay,

I can understand your fear.  I think we are all scared of failure when we think of quitting, because we know it is very hard to quit.  But try not to worry.  Just do the best that you can.  Drink lots of water, avoid triggers, and think of things you can do in advance to distract yourself when you get cravings.

It's great that you decided to join this forum, because you will get a lot of support here.  And you might want to tell your friends and family that you are quitting on July 1st, because they will support you, too.  That will also help you to stay accountable.

Have faith in yourself, kaffykay.  You can do this!
