Hi everyone, day 1, again...12 hours down...using the patch and some leftover gum, which I've now run out of, from my last attempt...having some serious cravings.  Anyway, here I am..back...again.

    Hi daisey,

Welcome back.  It's great that you are going to give this another shot.  Most of us have tried numerous times before we were successful, so try not to be discouraged.  Quitting is hard to do.  If it were easy, I doubt anyone would still be smoking today.

Take it one step at a time.  Drink lots of water, and try to distract yourself.  You can do this.  Believe in yourself.

    Hi Daisey,

Congratulations on your decision to quit. The 4D's helped me and might help you:

Delay. The urge will pass whether you smoke or not.
    Deep breathe.
    Drink water.
Do something to take your mind off smoking.

    Keep the Quit!

    Eagerquit

    Daisey,

the people who have the most success in quitting have a quit aid and support. You have both!! You are also brave enough to share your story and we thank you for that.

treepo - you offer an interesting perspective and make an important point regarding self motivation and quit attempts. Never quit quitting. Great strategies too for cravings like water and distractions (and eagerquit with the 4D's)

    Way to go everyone,

    Jenna Lee
