Wow, you have been smoke free for over a week now. Way to go!
Most of us have tried to quit several times before it actually sticks. Making a list of the reasons why you want to quit is so motivating. Any time you are tempted, just read your list and it should help you to stay strong. Also, do things to distract yourself. Make sure you do some things for fun so they can act as a reward. And drink lots of water to help rid your body of all of those toxins.
It is wonderful that you are making this major change, wendianne. Having diabetes causes all sorts of problems. You don't want to make matters worse by continuing to smoke. Trust me, your body will thank you for your efforts!
