I have read that I shouldn't use the patch while breastfeeding, which is very disappointing, as I had hoped to at least not cope with the physical withdrawal at the same time as the psychological withdrawal.  I had been smoking 8 cigarettes a day (my quit date is tomorrow) and had bought a 7 mg box of patches.  Can anyone give me the go ahead to use these or do I dare do the whole withdrawal at once?  I am not interested in using gum, inhalers, etc.

    Hello Isabelle,

The patch is much safer than smoking since it only has nicotine and can be used during breastfeeding. However, it's best to ask your doctor and pharmacist but rest assured it's better to use the nrt patch than smoke during breastfeeding.

    All the best!

    Renee
