Hi there, I received and email today from smoker help line that had the link for the forums in it. I've never been in a forum before or how to use it, but I'm guessing it's like an oline chat group. Today is day 1 for me. It is my second time quitting. The first time I quit cold turkey was 11 years ago and I was smoke free for 6 years and when I started again I only smoked cigarettes for a year or so before I started vaping on a low nicotine dose for about 3 years now and I need help this time to quit and would really like to stay quit. I'm glad I have finally reached out for the support.

Started smoking when I was 12-13 years old and smoked cigarettes heavily for 10+ years before I quit cold turkey for the 6 years... this time quitting after 3-4 years of combination smoking cigarettes but mostly vaping has been really hard for me to finally get to being ready... the addiction and convenience of the vape has been alot more difficult to overcome. My reasons are; my kids, my HEALTH, the cost, and energy and strength. I'd like to focus my attention from this addiction to being healthier.

Hey megpie! Welcome! We're so glad that you've joined us here!

Congratulations on getting to the point where you feel ready. Day 1, and those reasons for staying quit are written down in black and white. You have so much to look forward to with this shift of focus from addiction to health.

About our forum: it's sort of like what you said, similar to a chat group (but not everyone is on here at the same time, so responses tend to be slower). People  support and encourage each other by sharing their stories, tips, etc.

    Wishing you much success, megpie!

Hi, welcome to the  group. I am on day 61, many times quitter. I seem to make it to the two year point and start again. This time I hope to make it for good. I have grandchildren to see grow into adulthood. I have never been a vapper, but the  withdrawals are real, the habit hard to break ..but the trick they say is to never give up the battle, wishing you suggest in your journey.
