Thank you everyone for encouraging me once again on my last post.  I really need it.

Still having the horrible headaches, dizziness, and nausea.  I have made a dr. appointment, but it isn't until next week, the 11th.  I guess this is the consequences I have to suffer for choosing to smoke for all those years.

Yes, I have been feeling so awful, I even considered smoking just to get rid of the physical pain, but I didn't give in. It is 7 weeks 5 days today that I have quit.  I just want to finally feel good and know that my efforts and all this pain is not for nothing.  I have had to stop chewing the nic gum because it makes the headaches, dizziness, and nausea worse.  I will keep it on hand just in case I really need it.  Had a really bad day again yesterday.  Sweating like crazy.  Must be withdrawal from the nic gum too now.

Keeping busy isn't so much of a problem for me, I have plenty of things to do, and little by little I am getting them done, I am doing everything so slow, it seems.  However, at this rate, I'm going to have to live forever in order to complete everything on my list. You know, for me, when I was smoking, I didn't think I was that far behind on my tasks, but I guess that's the lie I told myself while I was wasting all that time smoking instead of completing my tasks.  Smoking makes us lie to ourselves I think.

Take care everyone, and keep on pressing on.  We will all reach our goals of quitting smoking if we just don't give in, and be persistent, no matter how long it takes us to reach them. As another poster put it, we just have to "Be more stubborn than this addiction."

    Hi Mina,

Sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. Sounds like it will be helpful to check in with your doctor next week for some support. It's good to see that amongst all of the withdrawal you're still noticing some positives, such as the time you have now to complete your tasks.

Hope you have a wonderful smoke free day,
    Emily

Good day, I just read your post about struggling, me too.  You mentioned sweating? Goodness that seems all I do lately so I am assuming this is from the nicotine withdrawal today is my quit date, I already have cut myself back to 2 a day I was a pack plus smoker what helps you the most
    Wishing you the very best!

I am just 6 days in but the patch is certainly helping with some of the side effects.  No sweating,at all. I'm on the strongest patch for first month as I too was a pack a day smoker.  Spent my first weekend at home being a non smoker, and I have to say, it was difficult,  would do a few chores and then sit down...but no reward...that's tough for me, and honestly you just can't keep moving or you'd drop.  I'm going to take those reward breaks with a book even if it's just for a few minutes.
Good Luck to all of you, stay stronger than the urges We can do it! I'll keep checking in as reading these posts helps.

    Good Afternoon!

Congratulations all on your progress. You have the power to go the distance. Reward breaks with a good book sounds like an excellent idea. I find a piece of Excel spearmint gum or a small serving of yogurt makes a nice break. I also sit quietly in the back yard and enjoy the gardens. A walk through the neighborhood to the local park to see what the city and neighbors have been planting can also be rewarding. Right now I am relaxing to the sounds of Cat Stevens.

    Hi Mina

Hope your visit to the doctor was helpful and congratulations for hanging in there and not giving in.  I too suffered physically for some time when I quit.  I had horrible headaches as well, sweating, fatigue, sleeplessness, and sinus pain.
It has been 3 and a half months, and I am feeling much better. Of course, some days are harder than others, and I agree with you, don't give in, be persistent and keep on going, one day at a time!

    Dear Mina

I am sorry you feel those horrible problems, I will go to see my Doctor to see if there is something else you can do for you, to help you more!

About me, I been feeling so bad, many times when I quit, that I fail to sleep again so many times, believing it was a solution. I was wrong, I was failing into the Crave. Until I learn How to get rid that Moment.

Trust me, you can do it! We are here for you! believe it!

Keep trying is part is part of the process to freedom!
