Someone once told me cigarettes don't travel alone they travel in packs. On many quits I thought one would just tie me over but they traveled in packs and I got right back to where I was in addiction. Hope this saying may help anyone get through an urge or craving.

This is a good one to think of when the urges are there tempting you to go buy a pack for 'the one'... u would end up smoking the whole pack and then feel sickened both physically and then emotionally for not sticking to the path and staying free. Then you have to reset the clock to day 1 again. No way... just no way.. and the further into the quit you get, the more valuable it is and the bigger the stakes get to lose. Its like placing a bet... all or nothing. All I know now is that Ive reached day 85 and no way do I want to go through these last few months again. This is the quit to stick and Im going to have success. Ive come to far now and fought too hard.

Going by past attempts I know 3 months is a huge milestone and that's just a week away for me now so Im almost there. I feel strong since coming off the patch but I still have the mist at hand and of course, this forum.

This is super helpful. I never thought of it this way but a lightbulb went off when I read this. I will repeat this anytime I have the urge to "just have one" because we all know it's never just one. Something similar is said in the sober program I'm in that goes hand in hand with this: "One is too many, a thousand is never enough." I think I will use your quote and finish it off with this. It will make for a good mantra. Thank you for sharing this!
